Microsoft has partnered with blockchain data provider Space and Time Labs (SXT) to integrate real-time, verifiable blockchain data into its Fabric platform, marking the tech giant's official entry into the Web3 ecosystem.
Through this integration, users can now access live data from networks like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Sui via Microsoft’s Azure OneLake infrastructure—empowering enterprise clients to incorporate blockchain insights directly into their analytics and applications.
Space and Time leverages zero-knowledge proofs (ZK proofs) to validate and index data, allowing developers to securely connect off-chain databases to smart contracts using its high-speed "Proof of SQL" engine. The integration is available free of charge to Microsoft Fabric users. While not immediately revenue-generating, the move is considered a strategic positioning effort. Microsoft’s venture arm, M12, had previously invested $20 million in SXT, signaling long-term support for the project’s growth.
