PayPal has enabled users in the United States and its territories to buy, sell, and transfer Solana (SOL) and Chainlink (LINK) directly through its platform.
Previously, users needed third-party services like MoonPay to trade these coins, but now transactions can be done directly on PayPal.
Since 2020, PayPal has offered cryptocurrency services, initially supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and other digital assets. In October 2023, PayPal also expanded its offerings by introducing PayPal USD stablecoin for transactions on Ethereum and Solana.
However, concerns from the SEC regarding Solana being classified as an unregistered security, coupled with regulatory uncertainty in the US, may have caused PayPal to adopt a cautious listing strategy.
