Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced the reorganization of the National Superintendency of Crypto Assets in a decree.
According to Cointelegraph, a new board of directors headed by Anabel Pereira Fernández, a lawyer who served as president of the Fondo de Garantía de Depositos y Protección Bancaria, the Venezuelan version of the United States Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, will lead the reorganization.
While the decree does not provide further details or specific reasons for the reorganization, the board will plan the next steps for the cryptocurrency department, known in Spanish as Sunacrip.
