Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin responded to criticism from the community about the Ethereum and other tokens he sells. Buterin stated that his sales were not to generate personal income, but to support the ecosystem or charity. He emphasized that he has not kept the proceeds from any sales since 2018 and that these funds are used for public interest projects such as biomedical research.
Buterin added that he has no plans to invest in the future and will apply a similar strategy for the other tokens he holds. Stating that the proceeds from Layer-2 projects will also be donated in the near future, Buterin said that he only aims to provide financial support to these projects in areas that the ecosystem values less.
