The U.S. branch of the World Food Program (WFP USA) has begun accepting cryptocurrency donations as part of its efforts to fight global hunger.
Launched under the “Emergency Famine Relief Fund,” the initiative allows donations in over 80 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
The goal is to raise 25 million dollars to support 58 million people facing hunger worldwide.
This new initiative aims to streamline the donation process by leveraging the speed and borderless nature of crypto transactions. It also opens the door for the crypto community to actively contribute to humanitarian efforts.
The World Food Program’s move highlights the growing role of cryptocurrencies in driving social impact on a global scale.
